Eggless Chocolate Espresso Cake ~ For Blog Hop Wednesdays

Chocolate Espresso Cake

This is the first time I’m using coffee in a cake though I had wanted to do so for some time now....   Ever since hubby dear who is a coffee addict bought the coffee maker to enjoy his daily cuppa I wanted to play matchmaker to both coffee and chocolate.....     I got my chance during this week when I hopped off to Vidya’s blog for this week’s Blog Hop Wednesdays. I would describe her space as most Picturesque !!!!    If you want to eat with your eyes and feel satiated just by looking into a picture, I would point you to her space without thinking twice about it.

Vegetable Kofta Curry

Vegetable Kofta in Muglai Gravy

Hope you all had a great week end friends. I had a great one. I made this kofta curry for the guests who were supposed to be coming for dinner on Saturday night but unfortunately rain played havoc and spoiled the plans. Some plans for outings had to be dropped because of rain and we spent the week end holed up inside our home. There were frequent power cuts too but in general spent the week end cooking and enjoying some great food.

Baked Shahi Paneer

Baked Shahi Paneer

Weekends are something that I look forward to with a child like enthusiasm.... I’m quite everybody does too.... When life becomes so  boring and dull during the week days because of the routine I plan to make it more interesting by trying out new dishes over the weekend during which I have more time and the family can also enjoy a meal at leisure instead of having to hurry up all the time looking at the clock.

Aalampana ~ A Royal Treat | Marinated Vegetables in a Rich Creamy Sauce

Aalampana

I can almost imagine the Royal Chef walking into dining room of the Royal Court and presenting this dish with much fanfare and pride at the feast table to his Emperor and standing back with a dedicated and graceful bow waiting for his Emperor’s approval.

He gets his approval from the sparkling brightness of his Emperor’s eyes, the joy he must have experienced when the flavors burst in his mouth, each distinct one vying for attention, the satiation he would feel after he finished his feast, after all he is the Royal Cook, he ought to know.

Potato Podimas

Today’s post is all about Arun’s cooking expertise. Well, not bad at all, I guess. What do you guys say? The boy wanted to learn how to add spice powders without using tea spoons and asked me to teach it. So I chose this recipe as it is simple and this also happens to be his favorite.

All I did was chopping the potatoes, supervised standing near him and write this post. Cooking, clicking and editing is all done by him. With the way he is going seems in future I may not have any work in kitchen at all. Yaaayy... We all enjoyed it with Rasam Rice which was just perfect for the weather.

Basic Muffin Recipe | How to bake a Muffin | Step by Step

I have started to love baking muffins. I had been experimenting with muffins for the last month in my endeavor for getting the perfect ones. I think I really did hit it good. They are so perfect, no nonsensical and compact to pack and carry. Aren’t they?

Arjun’s school prohibits from sending eggs in any form to school and muffins have become a great way not only in packing but also in making his snack time interesting and also he gets to eat egg in one form or the other.

Ginger Tomato Chutney

Ginger Tomato Chutney

I have an ardent fan of idlis at home. None other than my Hubby. Idli batter is something that is ever present in my fridge throughout the day of the year. He insists on having them both for breakfast and dinner.

He also orders the same no matter to which ever restaurant he visits. He loves the idlis of the famous Hotel Saravana Bhavan. Bread and oatmeal are a big no as an option for breakfast to him. In fact he has never had it till this day.

Papad Rolls

Papad Rolls
Arjun loves munching on crunchy Appalams / Papads. I always stock them in the pantry as it is his comfort food. Whenever he his hungry and I come home late from work he will see to his hunger pangs by popping them in Microwave and toasting them for a few seconds. As it is very healthy too I never mind it. This is much more better than the boy munching on chips or wafers. Also the little one gets to operate the Microwave without any fear and I have drummed into him the result of misusing the gadget. I wonder if I would have operated any kitchen gadget with so much ease when I was his age as he does so now. I was so much scared of making a mistake when I first brought it into my Kitchen.

Tutti Fruti Mini Buns | For Blog Hop Wednesdays

Tutti Fruti Mini Buns

I guess, I succeeded in fulfilling Arun’s long time wish by baking these cute mini buns which are available in his school canteen, of which he was very fond of. He even buys them for his brother. He was the one to unearth this recipe from Swetha’s blog. Before I delve deep, Hats off to Swetha, my partner for this week’s Blog Hop, for being such an adventurous foodie. I wonder if she has left out any cuisine from around the world. I spent a good quality time in familiarizing myself with unheard of recipes belonging to various cuisines and I felt that I had actually been handed over a menu card of a truly world class restaurant.
