Homemade Pan Release

Ingredients

  • Vegetable shortening or Vanaspati - 3 tbsp
  • Unsalted Butter - 3 tbsp
  • All purpose flour or Maida - 3 tbsp

Instructions

  • Melt the Vanaspati in a bowl over low flame.
  • Switch off the stove and drop the butter and keep swirling the bowl for the butter to melt in the heat itself.
  • This will prevent the butter for turning into ghee.
  • Let the mixture cool down.
  • Add the flour and whisk till smooth.
  • Transfer this Pan release to a clean and dry jar or bottle.
  • Use it to grease your cake tins whenever a recipe calls for greasing and flouring a tin while baking cakes.

Notes

You can double or triple the recipe easily by using all the ingredients in equal proportions.
